BRUCE LABRUCE
Toronto based filmmaker, writer, director, photographer, artist and co-initiator of the queercore movement, Bruce LaBruce began his career in the mid eighties making a series of short experimental super 8 films.
He has directed the feature length movies NO SKIN OFF MY ASS (1991), SUPER 8 1/2 (1994), HUSTLER WHITE (1996), SKIN FLICK (2000) and THE RASPBERRY REICH (2004). In OTTO; OR, UP WITH DEAD PEOPLE (2008) and L. A. ZOMBIE (2010) LaBruce relates firstly to the horror genre. Bruce LaBruce recently completed twi films: GERONTOPHILIA (2013), and the experimental adaptation of his stage version of PIERROT LUNAIRE (2014) which was mounted at the Hebbel am Ufer Theater in Berlin 2011.
His newest feature PIERROT LUNAIRE will have it’s World Premiere at Berlinale Forum Expanded 2014.
